Country Music in El Poblado
An odd thing about this very nice little cafe on Cra. 30–they play country music. American country music. Contemporary American country music. Not the horrible stuff–the self-validations a solidly prosperous exurban population that gets heavy rotation by American country music stations–but contemporary country music nonetheless–probably the American country station on some Pandora or XM like music service. What does it sound like to the ears of the upscale clientele who frequent this place? To Colombian ears, does American country music contain markers of sophistication?
