Over two days, I spent about five hours in this impressionante<\/em> place. According to one of the exhibits, when the Bourbons took over the Spanish throne in the late 18th Century, they decided that the the religion of Mexico was no longer orthodox Christianity, but a syncretism of Catholicism and indigenous belief. Well that new religion certainly knew how to build temples. I only took a few photos, mostly of the building, and one of an artifact (see below).<\/p>\n
