<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\nAmid the large and impressive collection of watercolors that my father left us when he died (peacefully, at the age of 98) this past April were 14 paintings in a different style than his usual. Instead of being landscapes or studies of interesting buildings, these were watercolors of a child at play in the snow. Soon we also discovered a couple of typed sheets, with simple verses keyed to the paintings. It was the draft of a children’s book, written in 1958, and never published. It was a joyful and loving project to finally put these images and text into book form. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
